This morning, President Obama wrapped up the G-8 Summit in Deauville, France, and held a bilateral meeting with French President Nicholas Sarkozy of France. In a statement following his meeting with President Sarkozy, President Obama commented on the “enormous convergence of approaches and views on the challenges that we face around the world” including changes in the Middle East and North Africa. The President also discussed the progress made in Libya:
We agreed that we have made progress on our Libya campaign, but that meeting the U.N. mandate of civilian protection cannot be accomplished when Qaddafi remains in Libya directing his forces in acts of aggression against the Libyan people. And we are joined in resolve to finish the job.
We discussed the enormous opportunities as well as challenges that are presented by the Arab Spring, and shortly we’ll be discussing in depth how we can fully support countries like Egypt and Tunisia, not only as they transition to democracy but also ensuring that that democratic transition is accompanied by economic growth, which can provide more opportunities for all the people, particularly the young people in the region.
Later in the day, President Obama travelled to Warsaw, Poland where he participated in wreath laying ceremonies at both the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Warsaw Ghetto Memorial. The President also met with Jewish community leaders and Holocaust survivors at the Warsaw Ghetto Memorial.

'SNL' star gets a little creepy with the nominees in new promos for the show.
By Eric Ditzian
Ever since "Twilight" sank its fangs into the pop-culture landscape, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner have played major roles at the MTV Movie Awards. For the past few shows, they've appeared in movie spoofs, introduced exclusive franchise footage, kissed their co-stars and even accidently dropped a Golden Popcorn onstage.
For the 2011 Movie Awards, the actors decided to get involved in the action a little bit earlier. Not that they had a choice in the matter, as two new promo spots make clear. Host Jason Sudeikis follows up on his desire to meet the nominees before showtime (he's already shared face time with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Stone and Leighton Meester), and the "SNL" funnyman surprises the "Twilight" stars in some unlikely places.
In Stewart's clip, she has just settled in to get her hair cut, when Sudeikis pops into her dressing room. "You're not my hairdresser," she tells him. "Good eye!" he responds. But the two quickly hit it off, and it's not long before he's plopping a bowl on her head and snipping away. Say goodbye to Bella Swan's long locks!
In the other spot, Lautner hails a New York City cab, only to realize Sudeikis is behind the wheel, though he admits to being "a terrible driver." Lautner tries to escape, but the Movie Awards host locks the doors. "That's weird," the Twi-werewolf tells him. Weirder still is that Sudeikis confesses he stole the taxi, and as the police sirens swirl in the background, he leaves poor Taylor locked in the car plaintively crying, "Jason!"
Hopefully, he'll find his way out by June 5, when the 2011 MTV Movie Awards air live at 9 p.m. ET from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. Voting in all categories, from Best Villain to Best Line from a Movie, is now under way at MovieAwards.MTV.com. Voting is set to close on June 4. But voting for Best Movie will stay open through the show itself, meaning you have the chance to affect the night's biggest winner up until the very last minute.
Will vampires and werewolves own the 2011 MTV Movie Awards? Can wizards or dream thieves steal the Golden Popcorn? Find out on June 5, when the 20th annual show airs live at 9 p.m. ET/PT. To get into the magical movie mood, we're kicking off a Sneak Peek Week starting on May 30 — five days of exclusives and interviews with the casts of "Fright Night, "Horrible Bosses" and more. Check out everything there is to know about Sneak Peek Week and the Movie Awards at MovieAwards.MTV.com!

Boris Tadic said previous administrations had not made serious attempts to find Ratko Mladic
Serbian President Boris Tadic has said the investigation into ex-Bosnian Serb army chief Ratko Mladic will be extended to anyone thought to have helped him avoid arrest for 16 years.
Mr Tadic told the BBC anyone who protected him would be prosecuted.
Gen Mladic would be transferred to The Hague to be tried for war crimes, despite an extradition appeal by his lawyers, the president insisted.
Arrested on Thursday, he faces genocide charges over the 1992-95 Bosnian war.
Gen Mladic was declared fit to be extradited from Serbia to face trial, although his family and legal team say he is in poor health.
He was indicted in 1995 over the killings about 7,500 Bosnian Muslim men and boys that July at Srebrenica - the worst single atrocity in Europe since World War II - and other crimes.
Relatives of Srebrenica victims welcomed the arrest as a relief.
However, some residents of Serb areas of Bosnia expressed regret, and in Gen Mladic's former command post, Pale, about 2,000 people protested against the detention.
Ratko Mladic is in legal limbo. The judge here in Belgrade has approved his extradition to face trial in The Hague but it's likely to be delayed by a request from his family to have him admitted to hospital for urgent medical checks.
The son of the former Bosnian Serb commander says he may have had a stroke and needs an independent medical analysis, but Serbia's deputy war crimes prosecutor rubbished the claim, calling it an attempt to delay his extradition.
And so Ratko Mladic awaits a final decision later next week by the Ministry of Justice. The Serbian government is keen to see the back of a man charged with genocide and other war crimes, seeing his departure as the final act of the Mladic story and one which might finally allow Serbia to leave its troubled past behind.
Mr Tadic said the investigations would look at any help given to Gen Mladic by members of the Serbian armed forces or police, adding that he had been able to count on the support of what he termed "some people in the state system" over the years.
"In the next few days, we'll have a completed picture of what happened in the past two-and-a-half years, even more, in the past 16 years," he said. "And, for us, that is going to be very, very important."
The president added that while Gen Mladic had initially enjoyed considerable support from some officials, this weakened after the overthrow of Slobodan Milosevic in 2000.
He said efforts to find the former army chief were stepped up when he himself took office in 2004, but were often frustrated by his extensive family.
"He had many, many relatives, not only in Serbia but also in other regional countries - in Bosnia and Hercegovina, Macedonia and other countries," he said.
"That was making real difficulties in terms of investigating that case."
Earlier court spokeswoman Maja Kovacevic told reporters outside the court that Gen Mladic's health was good enough for him to be extradited to the tribunal.
He had refused to accept a copy of the tribunal's indictment, she added. After this, the court ruled that the conditions for his transfer had been met and he was given until Monday to appeal.
Defence lawyer Milos Saljic confirmed that an appeal would be submitted on Monday. The judge then has up to three days to consider it, though the BBC's Mark Lowen, in Belgrade, says the matter may be dealt with more quickly.
Gen Mladic's wife Bosiljka and their son Darko turned up at the court to visit him. Mr Saljic later said this was their first meeting with him in 10 years.
Darko told journalists his father was innocent and not in a fit state to be sent to The Hague.
Meanwhile Serge Brammertz, chief prosecutor at the UN International Criminal Tribunal to the former Yugoslavia, said he was considering putting Gen Mladic on trial together with former Bosnian Serb political leader Radovan Karadzic.
Mr Karadzic was arrested three years ago and has been on trial since 2009. Any joint appearance would mean lengthy delays in his proceedings, correspondents say, as it could take months before Gen Mladic is ready to go to trial.
Having lived freely in the Serbian capital, Belgrade, Gen Mladic is believed to have gone into hiding after the arrest of former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic in 2001.

Serbia had been under intense international pressure to arrest Gen Mladic and send him to the Hague tribunal.
The government is now keen for a speedy extradition of Gen Mladic, whom Serb nationalists still regard as a hero, says our correspondent.
Gen Mladic was seized in the province of Vojvodina in the early hours of Thursday, reportedly as he went out into his garden for a pre-dawn walk.
He had two guns with him, but put up no resistance, officials said.
Serbian security sources told AFP news agency that three special units had descended on a house in the village of Lazarevo, about 80km (50 miles) north of Belgrade.
The single-storey house was owned by a relative of Gen Mladic and had been under surveillance for the past two weeks, one of the sources added.
In the latest revelations, police officials told the Associated Press that Gen Mladic had moved to the village two years ago. They also said he immediately admitted his identity when found.
AP quoted officials as saying no-one would receive a reward for his arrest, because police were not acting on a tip-off when they arrested him.

Polls suggest the referendum race is neck and neck The close-knit community on the Mediterranean island of Malta could be on the verge of a fundamental change that may affect the very fabric of its society.
In a referendum on Saturday, the citizens of this deeply Roman Catholic country will decide whether to introduce divorce.
Malta is the only country - apart from the Philippines and the Vatican City - where divorce cannot be carried out.
Instead, people must either become domiciled abroad or, if one of the parties is not Maltese, they could apply for a divorce in their own country. That divorce can be recorded in Malta.
Couples can apply for a legal separation thought the courts, or seek a Church annulment - a complex process that can take up to nine years.
Anti-divorce campaigners argue that the institution of marriage is strong in Malta precisely because couples do not have the option of a fall-back position. And they say that this helps make Maltese society one of the closest-knit in the world.
But those who are pro-divorce say that there are already plenty of separations in Malta, and that these people should be allowed to marry again.
According to the Labour opposition leader Joseph Muscat - who is in favour of divorce - two legal separations a day pass through the Maltese courts. On top of this, the courts regularly record foreign divorces.
Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando MP with the Nationalists“If you have the means you can get divorced but if you don't then you can't. This, to me, is unjust and unacceptable”
With at least 95% of a population of more than 400,000 being Roman Catholic, divorce has never made it past the strong religious beliefs of the Church, politicians and the public itself.
But that might be about to change. Last year Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, an MP with the Nationalists, presented a private member's bill along with Evarist Bartolo, an MP with the opposition Labour party.
This bill proposed that people could divorce after living apart for four years, and as long as spouses and dependents were provided for.
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi's suggestion of a referendum sparked an impassioned debate.
The Catholic Church and the ruling Nationalist party are both backing the "No" campaign, while the Labour party has not taken an official stance.
Mr Orlando, speaking at his large and immaculate home in the countryside around the town of Zebbug, says he did not believe that new legislation would contribute to marital breakdown.
Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, an MP with the Nationalists, thinks the current system is unjust "It's simply a bill that will help regularise the situation for a lot of couples, who are being forced to cohabit," he says.
Separated from his own wife, he has said that he will seek divorce abroad if it is not introduced in his own country. But he points out that this is not something many Maltese can do.
"Malta is the only country in the world which doesn't have divorce but does recognise those obtained abroad. Therefore, if you have the means you can get divorced but if you don't, then you can't.
"This, to me, is unjust and unacceptable."
Mr Orlando sees the referendum as more than just a vote on divorce - for him it's a debate on the Church's role in society and the amount of political and social influence that it carries in Malta.
"I appreciate the fact that the Church should be allowed to exercise spiritual influence, but I can't accept a situation where the Church also wields political and administrative power," he says.
Some parishioners say they have been told by their priests that they will be denied Holy Communion and confession if they vote for divorce, he continues.
"The local Catholic Church is going to suffer, even after the referendum."
Monsignor Anton Gouder Maltese Archdiocese senior official“The fact that we don't have divorce in Malta has helped to strengthen marriage here”
There have been two recorded cases of conflict between Church and public - one priest who regularly gave the Eucharist to an elderly woman at home began to withhold it once she told him she was pro-divorce. She later received it from another priest.
And, on a recent Sunday, a priest announced to his congregation that anyone planning to vote for divorce in the referendum should not come up to receive Holy Communion - sparking a walk-out by some of his flock.
But Monsignor Anton Gouder, a senior official within the Maltese Archdiocese, says that the two cases were isolated, and that at least one of the priests has apologised.
He also confirms that, despite comments made by other senior priests suggesting otherwise, those who vote for divorce will still be able to go to confession and Holy Communion.
He says divorce is not a religious issue, but a social one, describing Malta as one of the strongest countries in the world for family, with some of the happiest children.
"Not to have divorce is special in a positive way. Statistics show that divorce brings much more marriage breakdown and more co-habitation," he says.
"The fact that we don't have divorce in Malta has helped to strengthen marriage here. Most Maltese marry, and most do that in church.
"With divorce, marriage for life ceases to exist. Your youngsters, who have grown up with divorce, don't know what that actually means in practice."
Anton Gouder thinks Malta's stance over divorce has made its society something worth preserving Mgr Gouder acknowledges that the Church has been damaged by the debate, which has spilled over into questions about how much influence religion should have in a society that is officially secular.
"Obviously, as in other countries, when there is a moral issue at stake, some parts of society find it useful to attack the Church, so that if the Church loses credibility, more people will vote against the principles that the Church holds."
Polls suggest the referendum race is neck and neck. A result is expected on Sunday, but either result may not yet see an end to the argument.

However, the question mark at the end of "Too Hard for Science?" suggests that nothing might be impossible.

The tornado that tore through Joplin is considered the worst in 60 years The US state of Missouri has released a list of 232 people missing since a devastating tornado struck the city of Joplin on Sunday.
Officials hope many of those are will be found alive and have simply failed to contact relatives.
The tornado killed at least 125 people, injured 750 and wrecked as much as a third of the city, making it one of the most destructive in US history.
US President Barack Obama plans to visit Joplin on Sunday.
Another series of tornadoes struck Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas on Tuesday and Wednesday, killing at least 16 people.
On Thursday, Oklahoma authorities discovered the body of a three-year-old boy who went missing after a tornado struck his home.
Search teams in Joplin, Missouri, home to 49,000 people, have scoured the wreckage for survivors. But by Thursday morning, authorities began weighing when to begin using bulldozers and other heavy kit to clear debris - a step that would indicate no more survivors were expected to be found.
Joplin Fire Chief Mitch Randles was quoted by the Associated Press as saying: "We've had stories from earthquakes and tsunamis and other disasters of people being found two or three weeks later, and we are hopeful we'll have a story like that to tell."
Those leading the search effort say it is impossible to know how many people are truly missing, since many may have simply left the area and not been in contact with relatives.
Mike Hare said his 16-year-old son Lantz was among the missing. Mr Hare told AP he had searched the neighbourhood where the boy was last seen and had called hospitals as far away as Dallas and Kansas City.
Lantz Hare had been driving with a friend when the tornado struck on Sunday evening. The tornado destroyed the car, and Mr Hare found Lantz's backpack in the wreckage.
"We know he's hurt somewhere," Mr Hare said on Wednesday. "We just can't sit and keep calling. You've got to be moving."
